Tata Harrier Review
The Tata Harrier was the first SUV from the company to be built by Tata Motors on the lines of the Impact 2.0 design and with this design it became one of the most attractive SUVs in the Indian market. Although the Tata Harrier was discontinued by the company with better design, but it looked quite backward compared to many features in its segment. Well, in view of the increasing demand in this segment of customers, the Tata Harrier has been introduced by the company as per BS6 standards, and it has included many features including automatic transmission, which we were complaining about in the old variants. .

Apart from the auto-dimming IRVM (Inside Rear View Mirror), which used to be a problem of USB sockets earlier, the company has now corrected a bit outside. Also inside the armrest you get a fast charge USB port and a 12V socket. The 8.8-inch touchscreen system comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Connectivity System. In addition to the auto climate control, the company has also provided a 9-speaker JBL sound system, whose music output is no less than a premium audio system. However, here you will find the biggest drawback in this vehicle is the connected car technology, which is being seen in other vehicles of this segment.
Engine Specifications
Automatic Transmission
The power delivery of the automatic variants of the Harrier looks quite smooth and its transmission works quite well. Not only this, we enjoyed driving the automatic variants more than the manual variants and it does not give you any problem in gear shifting with a better power. Its power is seen on the highways in the mid-range. At the same time, above 3500 rpm it looks quite aggressive. In the transmission, you also get manual mode, which in turn activates the sport mode automatically in the vehicle and this vehicle is ready to fill the speed.
In the automatic variant, you get about 8 driving modes, in which you get 3 drive modes (City, Eco, Sport) and 3 Terrain Response Modes (Normal, Rough and Weight) plus an automatic and a manual with Sport mode. Get to The suspension also works much better and the steering wheel has also seen significant improvement. It is very favorable even during turning, whereas earlier you used to get a bit harsh. If you change your direction even at high speed, then your confidence in the Harrier remains and somehow you do not face any problem. Overall, the performance of the automatic variant is much better and its transmission looks quite impressive and nowhere does this vehicle make you feel anything like a jerk.
Manual Transmission
The old variant of the Harrier also came with a 6-speed manual transmission and now if compared to the new variant to the old variant, its clutch looks a bit lighter. Also you will find the steering to be lighter and its gear shifting used to be a little complaining earlier when driving it during traffic, but now I think the company has also improved its manual transmission. You do not feel like jerking anywhere during shifting and at high speed you get to see its power quite excitingly. You are clear that you are driving a powerful vehicle. There is a slight improvement in braking as well, although we feel that the company needed to give disc brakes on all four wheels in its top variant. As standard safety features, the company has given traction control, rollover mitigation, electronic stability program and corner stability control. The biggest improvement in NVH level
The biggest problem in the BS4 Tata Harrier was that its engine starts making a lot of noise as soon as it starts. Not only this, even at high speed, it used to bother the passengers sitting inside too. However, now with the new BS6 variants, the company has made a third major change in the new Harrier, apart from the engine and transmission, at its NVH (noise, vibration, and stiffness) levels. Now on the highway, whether you want to drive the manual variants or the automatic variants, you will not feel like you are driving a diesel engine. All the time it will make you feel like you are riding a petrol car. Overall, the BS6 Tata Harrier now comes with a superior NVH level, powerful engine and an impressive automatic transmission. Our Review
The Tata Harrier automatic is available in only three variants XMA, XZA and top range XZA +, starting at Rs 16.25 lakh. At the same time, the initial price of its manual variant is Rs 13.69 lakh, which goes up to Rs 20.25 lakh automatic top variant. With the powerful BS6 engine, now you also get an automatic transmission, due to which it is now going to be liked by customers a lot. The new Harrier is going to be liked by youngsters who like SUVs due to its driving ability and improved NVH level. However, it seems to lack features like connected technology and wireless charging like other vehicles in the segment. If you leave these gadgets and are looking for an SUV just by thinking about driving and power of the engine, then you can think about the new Tata Harrier. Well, this is what we will say once you take a test drive and maybe change your mind.Visit TATA MOTORS Website
