How vast is the Himalayas

The Himalayas extend to the states of India, Jammu and Kashmir, Siachen, Uttarakhand, Himachal, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal. All these states are in the lap of the Himalayas. Apart from this, the countries of North Pakistan, Northern Afghanistan, Tibet, Nepal and Bhutan are part of the Himalayas.
Geographically, the Himalayan range is located in the northern part of India. It is the mountain range that separates the Indian subcontinent from Central Asia or Tibet.

70 million years history

 In the middle of the Himalayas is the Sumeru Mountains. To the south of Sumeru are mountains named Himwan, Hemkut and Nishadh, which represent the lands of different countries. To the north of Sumeru are the Nile, White and Shringi mountains, they are also located in different countries. This Sumeru mountain is mainly surrounded by 4 mountains spread far and wide. 1. Mandarachal in the east, 2. Gandhamadan in the south, 3. Vipul in the west and 4. Suparshava in the north. The range of these mountains is outside the area.

To the east of Sumeru, there are mountains like Shitambha, Kumud, Kurri, Mallywan, Vaivank. To the south of Sumeru are the Trikut, Shishir, Kite, Ruchak and Nishad mountains. To the north of Sumeru are Shankhakoot, Rishabh, Hans, Nag and Kalanja mountains.

  In Nepal, the Himalayas are called Samagarmatha, which means the goddess of the universe. In Nepal it is also known as the Forehead of the Sky.

The Himalaya is the third largest deposit of snow and ice in the world after Antarctica and the Arctic. About 15,000 glaciers are located in the range. 48 miles (72 km) long, the mountain chain Siachen ice mass is that the largest ice mass outside the poles.

Other notable glaciers in the Himalayas include Baltoro, Biafo, Nubra and Hispur.
